Hi! My Name is Minnie Johnson or “Miss Minnie” as my little ones call me. I am the founder and owner of MTC Family Childcare/Education

 

I have always found joy in caring for children. Being the second oldest among my siblings, I was often asked to babysit them and other kids.  Children were naturally drawn to me, often reluctant to part with me even when their parents came to pick them up. Yet, despite my passion for caretaking and education, I chose to pursue a career in banking after high school.  I enjoyed a long, successful career in the finance industry; however, I always felt that childcare was my true calling.  At the time, as a newly divorced mother of two teenagers, the prospect of a career change seemed daunting but through prayer and perseverance, I opened MTC Childcare in 2001.  As a mother and an educator, I understand the importance of nurturing young minds. Children are naturally curious learners, and I believe it’s our responsibility as adults to support and encourage that natural expression. 

 

I am a certified teacher and have earned my Child Development Associates and I am CPR and First Aid certified.  MTC is a state-licensed Early Education Childcare facility. 

 

Since 2001, many families have entrusted me with the privilege of caring for and educating their children.  My home and heart are filled with loving memories of children growing up in my care who have enriched my life as much as I hope I have enriched theirs. 

 

Credentials: 

• Child Development Associates (CDA)

• State licensed Early Education and Childcare

• Certified Teacher (for infants, toddlers and preschoolers)

• CPR and First-Aid Certified
